If you have recipient information (such as lists, address books or database tables etc.) that you would like to use in Group Mail you will need to Import it. Currently Group Mail has three importers available. One for importing common email address book formations (like Outlook Express, Netscape, or Eudora etc.), one for importing Text/Binary information from Files or the Windows Clipboard and one for Importing from Databases. Both the Address Book and File importers can be found on the Tools Menu or from the Group Manager tab. The Database importer is only available to Group Mail Plus users and it is available as a Plug-in.
For in depth information on how to use either of them please see our tutorials section online at http://www.infacta.com/tutorials.asp
Importing Files or Lists: If you wish to import a list or a file then you should use the File importer (tools menu). For best results your details should either be in a simple list - one email address per line or they should be in some sort of delimited format - one record per line with a common character used to separate each field - like a comma or a tab.
Importing Address Books and Distribution Lists: If you wish to import an address book or list from your email software then you should use the Address Book Importer, found on the Tools menu.
Currently supported formats are:
Outlook Express
Netscape
Eudora
AOL (versions 4 and 5 only)
Exchange Server *
Lotus Notes *
Outlook *
Personal Address Book (PAB) *
Pine *
Global Address List (GAL) *
* Available in Group Mail Plus only
Distribution lists are only supported in Group Mail Pro or higher.
Importing Databases: Group Mail Plus users should use the Database Importer plug-in. Other users should first export the data they want to import as Text (CSV format is preferable) and then use the File Importer to get the information into Group Mail.
